Flashings and valleys weatherproof junctions that the main roof covering cannot bridge on its own. Splits, displaced flashings, defective chases and blocked valleys can allow water to track behind the covering. Lead moves with temperature changes, so suitable sizing, support and movement details matter. An appropriate repair needs to respect the existing junction and surrounding materials.
